Healthcare Project News


Trillium Health Centre

  Trillium Health Centre
PCGI in partnership with Agnew Peckham, have been engaged to assist the Trillium with operational readiness planning leading up to occupancy of their Mississauga West Wing Project.

OAHPP

  Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (OAHPP)
PCGI is proud to be the program management consultant on the successful set-up of Ontario’s newest Agency. The program consisted of over 21 functional areas including Finance, HR, Payroll, IT, Licensing, and Facilities. In total, over 150 projects were successfully completed. Congratulations OAHPP!

  Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
Through a series of workshops facilitated by PCGI, CAMH captured its successes and areas for improvement learned from Phase 1A of their multi-phase redevelopment project. Congratulations to CAMH for their commitment to collaborative project learning and improvement!

Ontario

  Toronto South Detention Centre – Operational Readiness
The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and PCGI are working to develop an overall “operational readiness” roadmap for the opening of their new 1,650 bed facility.



  Windsor-Essex Parkway
Infrastructure Ontario, in conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, have engaged PCGI to assist with the planning and controls for the Canadian-side roadway extension in Windsor that connects to the new border crossing to Michigan, USA.

Ontario   University of Waterloo Quantum - Nanotechnology Centre
U of W’s new $160MM Centre is the first of its kind in the world that combines both quantum and nano researchers and undergraduates in the University’s most complex scientific building. PCGI is developing a detailed construction schedule for Aecon Buildings under its construction contract with the University.

  Bank of Montreal + Wellington Building Renovations for PWGSC in Ottawa
NORR Limited and its project team have been selected by PWGSC to renovate 2 significant historical buildings within the Parliamentary Precinct in Ottawa. PCGI is providing project scheduling and risk management services to the team.
Cadillac Fairview   Commercial Office and Retail Redevelopment
PCGI’s long-standing relationship with Cadillac Fairview Corporation is continuing with engagements on the following commercial redevelopment projects:
  • Simcoe Place / RBC Centre, Toronto
  • Carrefour Laval Shopping Centre, Quebec
  • Chinook Centre Expansion, Calgary

Sharing our Knowledge:

Partenariats public-privé Québec
PCGI was invited as part of a group of advisors to participate in an operational decant and commissioning symposium held in Montreal in November 2008. The focus was on knowledge sharing gained on William Osler’s Brampton Civic Hospital Project with the team involved in the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) projects.

Infrastructure Lessons Learned at Niagara Health System
PCGI is pleased to be a part of the Niagara Health System’s consultant team on the first new hospital to be constructed as a Design, Build, Finance and Maintain (DBFM) project in partnership with Infrastructure Ontario under the province’s Alternative Financing Procurement (AFP) delivery model. In the May/June 2008 issue of Canadian Healthcare Manager, NHS shared several tips for hospitals considering their own projects under this model.

Project Readiness Planning – Lessons Learned
At a November 2008 Lunch-n-Learn session, PCGI shared our lessons learned with the Project Delivery Group from Infrastructure Ontario on the importance of project readiness for hospitals and other “co-sponsor” partners embarking on large capital projects and/or getting ready to operate in new facilities.

In collaboration with CIBC, PCGI presented “Relax! Ten Ways to Keep Your Project Auditor Happy” - focusing on lessons learned on large corporate projects from both an internal staff and external consultant perspective to the Project Business Connection 2008 conference at the University of Toronto.

  • Welcome to Dana Chmelnitsky who has joined our Consultant team. Dana’s focus is in our growing area of operational readiness projects within the healthcare sector.

  • Mr. Alvin Yee joined PCGI as a Consultant on January 6, 2009 and will focus in the areas of real estate advisory services and construction monitoring. Alvin’s background is in architecture combined with experience in real estate development most recently with CB Richard Ellis in Toronto.
